PLEASE READ CAREFULLY PRIOR TO THE RACE 

Welcome to the Holualoa Tucson Marathon, Damascus Bakeries Half Marathon and Marathon Relay. In an effort to make your experience as positive as possible, here is some information that should help you prepare for race day. Please share the parking and traffic rules with your family and friends as they will need to adhere to these guidelines. If they don't, we risk not being able to have this event next year.

PARKING INFORMATION

Detailed information on parking will be available at the Expo and in the Runners' Packets. There will be NO PARKING at the start of the Marathon or the Half Marathon. Runners must take the buses to the start of their respective event. Please arrive early on race morning in order to board the buses on time. The Tucson Marathon is not responsible for any items left in vehicles or damage done to vehicles at Ventana Medical or Canyon Del Oro High School.

MARATHON & MARATHON RELAY PARKING

Parking is available for Marathon Runners and Marathon Relay Runners at Ventana Medical; the buses will pick up runners for the marathon and first marathon relay leg the entrance to Ventana Medical starting at 5am; the last bus will depart at 5:45am. PLEASE DO NOT WAIT FOR THE LAST BUS AS SPACE WILL BE LIMITED!

Marathon Relay runners for the second, third and fourth legs can provide their own transportation to each of the relay stations on the course or take the new shuttle option provided by the Tucson Marathon. The shuttle for the first relay exchange will depart Ventana Medical at 6am; the shuttle for the second relay exchange will depart Ventana Medical at 7am; the shuttle for the third relay exchange will depart Ventana Medical at 8am.   

DIRECTIONS TO VENTANA MEDICAL (from Tucson and the Race Expo/Hilton El Conquistador Resort): go north on Oracle Road to Tangerine Road (light), turn left (west) and turn right at the first traffic light (Innovation Park Drive) just before Northwest Hospital. Go up the hill, past the hospital, about half a mile and park on the right at the first building you come to (Ventana Medical). If the lot is full, there are plenty of open fields beyond it for parking.  Buses will pick up Marathon and First Marathon Relay runners at the entrance to Ventana Medical. Click here for a map.

HALF MARATHON PARKING

Parking is available for half-marathon runners at Canyon Del Oro (CDO) High School (25 W. Calle Concordia, Oro Valley, AZ 85704)  The buses will pick up runners for the half-marathon runners starting at 5:00am; the last bus will depart at 5:45am. PLEASE DO NOT WAIT FOR THE LAST BUS AS SPACE WILL BE LIMITED!

DIRECTIONS TO CANYON DEL ORO HIGH SCHOOL (from the Race Expo/Hilton El Conquistador Resort): Turn left (south) on Oracle Road/#77 and continue south for approximately 1 mile.  Turn right onto Calle Concordia (there is a traffic signal at the intersection of Oracle Rd. and Calle Concordia) and continue west for .25 mile.  Canyon Del Oro High School will be on the right side. Follow the signs and instructions from parking volunteers to an appropriate parking spot.  DIRECTIONS TO CANYON DEL ORO HIGH SCHOOL (from Tucson): Take Oracle Road to the traffic signal at Calle Concordia.  Turn left onto Calle Concordia and head west for .25 miles.  Canyon Del Oro High School will be on the right side of the road.  Please follow the signs and instructions from parking volunteers to an appropriate parking location.  Click here for a map.

FINISH LINE

The Tucson Marathon and Half Marathon events finish at the Coronado Middle School (3401 E. Wilds Road, Tucson, AZ 85739).  Shuttle buses will pick up runners and return them to the host hotels (if a shuttle was provided for their hotel), Ventana Medical Parking Area or the Canyon Del Oro High School Parking Area from the Finish Line, after the race. 

BUSES
Wear warm clothing on the bus and remember your Runner's World drop bag that you picked up at the Expo!

Buses will leave Ventana Medical (Marathon & First Marathon Relay runner) beginning at 5:00 a.m. Do not wait until the last bus (approximately 5:45 a.m.) as we cannot guarantee there will be space available.

Buses will leave Canyon Del Oro High School (Half-Marathon) beginning at 5:00am.  DO NOT WAIT until the last bus (5:45am) as we cannot guarantee there will be space available on the last bus. 

MARATHON DROP BAGS
Each runner will be provided with a Runner's World plastic drop bag, available at the EXPO. Please put all of your belongings in the bag, clearly write your bib number and last name on the bag and deposit in the appropriate window of the Drop Bag Bus (which will be labeled by bib number) at the start of the each race. The Drop Bag Buses will be the first 3 buses at the start of the each event. You may pick up your bag at the finish line after the race. All bags not picked up by 3 p.m. will be collected by race officials. All clothes not picked up on race day will be donated to a local charity after noon on the following day. If you fail to pick up your bag on race day, call the Marathon Hotline (520) 320-0667 prior to noon on Monday, December 14 to make arrangements to pick up your belongings.  Items left at the start and/or finish lines WILL NOT be mailed back to participants. Instead, these items will be donated to a local shelter.   

BIB NUMBERS & CHIPS - No Chip/No Time!
Bib numbers MUST be worn and visible on the front (not on the back) of your shirt or shorts and tear off bib tags must NOT be pinned to your clothing. Affix the chip to your shoe with the supplied zip tie. Return chip at finish line to avoid a charge.

PORTA-POTTIES
There will be porta-potties at the start of each of the races and at all relay locations. There will also be porta-potties available along the Marathon course at the following locations: Circle K in Oracle, Biosphere Road, Oracle Jct, Saddlebrook Rd, Eagle Crest and near Basha's (on Hawser Rd).
For the Half Marathon, porta-potties will be located at Oracle Jct, Saddlebrook Rd, Eagle Crest, near Basha's (on Hawser Road). 

Each toilet will be situated in plain sight along the course. See course map for exact locations.

MARATHON & HALF-MARATHON PACE TEAMS

Once again, the great folks at Arizona Road Racing and Blue Pants Racing will provide 18 pace teams for the Marathon and the Half Marathon. The finish-time paces are:

   MARATHON: 3:00, 3:10, 3:15, 3:20, 3:30, 3:40, 3:45, 3:50, 4:00, 4:15, 4:30 and 5:00

   HALF-MARATHON: 1:40, 1:45, 1:50, 2:00, 2:15 and 2:30

AWARDS PICK UP
The awards will be available at the finish line area (table or booth) on the grass field. The half marathon awards will be available at 10 a.m.; the Marathon and Marathon Relay ceremony at 11:30. Once official results are posted awards can be picked up at the awards table. If you cannot stay to pick up your award, please leave $10.00 in a self-addressed envelope with a race official or finish line personnel. Or, mail it to: Tucson Marathon 1861 N. SPECTATOR VIEWPOINTS
Please adhere to these rules or you will be ticketed by police officers. There are some great locations to have your friends and family cheer for you along the way. Check the "spectator parking" map at the Expo. Please DO NOT park along the roadside on Oracle Road or you will be ticketed by officers. Spectators are strictly prohibited north of Oracle Junction (first 17 miles of the marathon route).

SPECTATOR PARKING

Spectator parking is available at Basha's Supermarket, 15310 N. Oracle Rd.  (Head south on the walking path located at the corner of Oracle and Golder Ranch Road until you arrive at the Coronado Middle School.)  See Spectator Map in previous section.   **NO PARKING ON E. WILDS ROAD.  VIOLATORS WILL BE TICKETED AND TOWED.

RACE DAY PHOTOS
Greetings from your friends at MarathonFoto!

Marathon Foto will be at the event taking photos to record your achievement. After the race, you will be sent an email link to your photos once they are available for viewing.

Good luck and remember to do two things:
1)Smile when you see the photographers!
2)Make sure your bib number is clearly centered and visible so we will be able to identify you after the race.
