TRAINING RUNS  

Blue Pants Racing is proud to host three training runs on November 15, 22 and 29. They vary in distance from 6 to 13 miles and they cover the entire race course. All the runs are free and fully supported (aid stations, medical support and SAG vehicle). Park at the end-point, we'll shuttle you to the start of the training run(s) and you'll run back to your car.

 

November 15: 13 miles from the start to the half-way point. Meet at SR-77 and Biosphere Rd (SE corner)at 7 AM.

November 22: 6 miles from the Biosphere to Oracle Junction. Meet in Oracle Junction (Lupe's Mexican Restaurant) at 7 AM.

November 29: 7 miles from Oracle Junction to the finish. Meet at the finish (NE corner of Oracle and Wilds Rd) at 7 AM.

PHOENIX AREA TRAINING GROUP - Team Chances for Children

If you are registerd for one of our races and living in the Phoenix area, please consider joining a Chances for Children - Team Chances training group in the coming months as you prepare for your race. 

Coached by some of the top athletes in the Phoenix area, Team Chances is both beginner and walker friendly but will also challenge veteran runners as well. Groups are forming now for the Tucson Marathon!

Team Chances members achieve their personal running goals, share the journey with other team members and feel the most satisfaction because they are related to a greater purpose - helping children improve their lives through improved fitness!

Team Chances supports Chances for Children, a nonprofit organization committed to improving quality of life for local schoolchildren by creating partnerships and programs that provide access to sports, physical education, and character education.

TUCSON MARATHON & HALF-MARATHON PACE TEAMS


And once again, the great folks at Arizona Road Racing and Blue Pants Racing will provide 18 pace teams for the Marathon and the Half Marathon. The finish time paces are:

 

     MARATHON: 3:00, 3:10, 3:15, 3:20, 3:30, 3:40, 3:45, 3:50, 4:00, 4:15, 4:30 and 5:00

     HALF-MARATHON 1:40, 1:45, 1:50, 2:00, 2:15 and 2:30

BLUE PANTS RACING MARATHON TRAINING PROGRAM:

The Blue Pants Racing Tucson Marathon Training Program kick-off is on September 1, 2009. The Tucson Half Marathon Training Program kick-off is on September 29th, 2009. Both programs include an "In Training" t-shirt, 4 weekly workouts, core training and professional help with your athletic gear, nutrition and injury prevention.

Both programs start at 6:00 PM at Catalina High School (directions). You'll receive further instructions and details on that day. The training program is free (with Blue Pants Racing membership) or $100 without.
